University of Tennessee College of Medicine Graduate Dr. Jesse Armstrong Convicted on Child Pornography

Armstrong got his medical license in Florida in June 2023. Two years later, it was revoked.

Jesse Roger Armstrong, 35, formerly of Murfreesboro, Tennessee and 2023 graduate of the University of Tennessee College of Medicine, has begun a seven-and-a-half-year sentence at the Federal Correctional Institute in Tallahassee, Florida after pleading guilty to distribution of child sexual abuse material.

Armstrong was employed as a psychiatrist at University of Florida Health. His conviction reflects a reprehensible engagement with child sexual abuse and exploitation at the hands of psychiatry.

The Gainesville Police Department began investigating after receiving a cybertip from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children indicating that Armstrong uploaded abusive images to a search engine. According to law enforcement statements, Armstrong admitted using the internet to search pornography and ambiguously acknowledged the abusive nature of the material. Detectives seized his electronic devices, and forensic analysis uncovered explicit content that formed the basis for his arrest on February 16, 2025, on multiple counts, including possession of child sexual abuse material and animal cruelty.

State charges were dropped in August 2025 following federal indictment in July 2025. In October 2025, the Florida Board of Medicine revoked his license, and Armstrong’s guilty plea in federal court on October 29, 2025, led to his sentencing on January 13, 2026. Conditions of his supervised release include stringent internet restrictions, electronic device inspections, prohibition of contact with children, and mandatory sex offender registration.
